Job Description:

In this position, you will work as part of the administrative support team for the Wastewater Regulatory Compliance Laboratory. Your duties will include:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists in tracking and monitoring expenditures, including purchase orders, P-card, and contracts.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and ensures that they are only available to authorized persons.
  • Maintains records and other vital information.
  • Interprets and implements basic City of Houston rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain vehicle database with up-to-date information.
  • Assists with managing office supplies including distribution, tracking, and ordering new supplies.
  • Assists in the coordination of staff services, such as personnel, purchasing, and office management.
  • Maintain a database of staff compliance with mandatory training courses and licenses.
  • Prepares periodic and special reports; compiles information and maintains department reference information.
  • Assists in the preparation, submission, and tracking of travel, training, and membership requests for laboratory personnel.

Job Requirements:

  • Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • One year of administrative experience is required.
  • Professional administrative experience may be substituted for the above education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Liberal Arts, or a closely related field.
