Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs responsible, administrative and supervisory work in the Office of Human Relations.
  • An employee assigned to this classification supervises a staff of Discrimination Investigators and a Human Relations Specialist to enforce the City’s Chapter 57 ordinance, Title VII and Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act. Responsibilities include encouraging equal opportunities for the citizens of Orlando in the areas of employment, housing, public accommodations through training, community involvement, and technical assistance.
  • Work is performed under the general supervision of the Equity Official/Human Relations Director and performance is reviewed through conferences, reports, and results obtained and program accomplishments.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration or Business Administration, or closely related field.
  • Three years as HUD/Fair Housing Assistance Program housing discrimination investigator which includes supervisory experience or three years as an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission/Fair Employment Practice Agency employment discrimination investigator experience.
  • FL State Supreme Court Certified County Mediation certification required within six months of hire.
  • Valid Florida driver license required.
