Job Description:
Under general supervision works with field supervisors to direct field activities of crews by assisting with the planning of work activities, assisting with the assessment of
infrastructure conditions and adhering to safety practices, policies and regulations; and other related assigned duties.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversees, plans and directs employees and multiple crews in the proper use and maintenance of
equipment and tools associated with water and sewer asset management program - Oversee crew(s) in proper safety methods and procedures during all repairs and maintenance activities including ensuring required documentation
- Performs advance level customer service planning/notification of work performed on City Water and Sewer infrastructure utilizing industry standardized evaluation methods
- Performs asset condition assessment and records maintenance data for Water and Sewer infrastructure
- Completes and maintains all required records/data for each project, identifying required personnel, equipment and materials
- Ensures compliance with relevant local, state and federal regulations
- Serves as liaison with internal and external stakeholders/customers/city officials
- Performs on-the-job training and assists with the evaluation of a subordinate crew
- Must report to work on a regular and timely basis
Job Requirements:
- Six (6) months experience as a Water/Wastewater Works Operator V;
- Upon completion of three (3) months experience as a Water/Wastewater Works Operator V, and:
- Receives a “Proficient” or above rating on most current performance evaluation
- Upon completion of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Certification
