Job Description:

The Department of the Interior is devoted to protecting and preserving the natural resources of this great nation, including National Parks, Landmarks, and the well-being of communities, including those of Native American, Alaska Natives and affiliated Islanders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides information and advice on the Act, marketing, and general intellectual property rights protections, informally through attendance of Indian arts and crafts marketing events nationwide, and formally through presentations at national, regional, Tribal and State sponsored consumer protection seminars, industry conventions, and related venues.
  • Requests additional evidence and related information from various sources; when appropriate may travel to interview the complainant and/or gather additional evidence; reviews and analyzes industry reports, relevant financial reports, and opinions related to the Act; analyzes and evaluates information and prepares a variety of documents for use in cases.
  • Responsible for editing and creating content for the IACB website and managing/overseeing the IACB social media platforms.
  • Provides pre-publication and editorial support for IACB publications, such as typing texts and proofreading typeset texts, captions, etc., for accuracy and conformity to the requirements and standards of the Indian Arts and Crafts Board and the Government Printing Office.
  • Responsible for the Source Directory of American Indian and Alaska Native Owned and Operated Arts and Crafts Businesses (Source Directory) publication. This includes promotion of the program to Indian artists, businesses, Tribes, the Indian arts and crafts industry, and consumers nationwide.
