Job Description:
This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision, Policy Branch of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of planning, developing, and coordinating special projects and programs in support of the Policy and Program Development (PPD) Section.
Job Responsibilities:

Reviews and assesses the impact of new legislation, technological developments, and similar matters related to the examination process and broader supervisory functions.

Assists in preparation of memoranda and correspondence, usually for the signature of the Director of the Division of Risk Management Supervision or the FDIC

Chairman, pertaining to examination and supervisory issues. Assists with the preparation of press releases and similar announcements of noteworthy changes within RMS. Assists with the preparation of speeches or other communications for delivery by senior Division or Corporation management.

Participates in broad intra-and interagency studies of the financial services industry and of the regulatory framework, particularly in relation to the work of the Division of Risk Management Supervision. Maintains a working relationship with other Corporation Divisions and Offices.

Develops and updates surveys of the industry designed to monitor examination quality or to analyze emerging trends.

Assists in the development and communication of Division and Corporation policies which relate to the supervision or activities of insured institutions.

Researches, compiles, and analyzes information on complex subjects pertaining to the financial services industry and markets, proposed and existing laws and regulations, emerging bank and financial issues, and FDIC-insured commercial banks and thrifts as well as national, international and regional economic developments in order to determine the extent of compliance with Federal laws, rules, and regulations that govern the institution.

Gathers and analyzes key information about processes and programs and all other records associated with the financial and management operations of the institution.

Prepares reports, letters, and other documents to contribute significant input for PPD programs, policies, and activities.
Job Requirements:
- At the end of the temporary promotion (if temporarily promoted), the employee’s basic pay will be set at the rate received prior to being temporarily promoted, regardless of length of the temporary promotion. The pay rate shall be increased to reflect pay increases (if any) received while temporarily promoted, as long as the resulting rate does not exceed the new range maximum.
Qualification & Experience:

CG-13: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 12 level or above, in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience researching, compiling information, and conducting studies on subjects pertaining to the financial services industry, existing and proposed legislation, the financial markets, FDIC-insured commercial banks and thrifts, as well as regional, national, or international economic developments to identify issues and make recommendations.

CG-12: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 11 level or above, in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience using software applications to prepare management reports, create presentations, charts, and draft correspondence addressing financial industry issues.

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
