Job Description:
The Director of Delivery Management is responsible and accountable for how mobile technology solutions are delivered, supported and integrate with other third-party applications. They provide thought leadership, coaching and direction for all assigned staff and establish/enforce standards and best practices for the technologies and applications their teams develop and support.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and grow assigned team of technology resources supporting our Individual Segment mobile squad
- Meet regularly with stakeholders to identify needs, gaps, and manage communication.
- Proactively identify dependencies and clear roadblocks for the squad.
- Be on top of the latest and greatest technologies, tools, methodologies, and frameworks for software engineering and engineering management
- Define roadmaps for applications and technical functions, which includes application ownership and in some cases leading Centers of Excellence (COE)
- Lead delivery of major initiatives with the squad.
- Collaborate with leaders across IT and the Business to develop strategies that are aligned to our Strategic Imperatives
- Provide leadership and support for implementations with a full software development lifecycle using DevOps methodologies.
- Be a touchpoint for technical inquiries from engineering leadership, UX, product managers, and customer support teams.
- Work with the product, UX, and other cross-functional engineering teams to help translate product requirements into clear goals and tasks.
- Foster collaborative, encouraging, inclusive and engaged culture.
- Meet with direct reports, providing frequent feedback on their overall performance, as well as mentoring and coaching individuals in careers.
Job Requirements:
- Experience working with remote employees
- Knowledge of agile quality and testing methods preferred (BDD, TDD, Unit Testing and Automation)
- Experience working with microservices and APIs
- Experience in continuous delivery and integration
- Focused on and responsible for team productivity and collective impact
- Effective at communicating context to the team and managing other internal stakeholders.
- Partner effectively across teams to manage scope, deliverables, and direct stakeholders
- Proven leadership and management skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, conflict resolution skills. Ability to navigate difficult conversations, both on your team and with stakeholders.
- Set the cultural and ethical tone for your team.
- Have 5+ years of development experience on iOS and/or Android with 2+ engineering management experience. Experience with other front-end technologies such as React Native, React and Angular a plus.
- Comfortable managing team members with different skill sets and areas of focus.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience. Five or more years of experience in an enterprise information technology environment.
- Demonstrated success working, collaborating, and establishing credibility and relationships with colleagues, management, business partners, and customers.
- Demonstrated success with ability to influence others, leading others to solve problems, and strong ability to follow organization policies and procedures.
