Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

• This is entry-level professional work performing scientific tasks under general supervision.
• The job requires skills in applying instructions to accomplish different job functions and a general understanding of scientific principles.
• Produces timely and accurate documentation of file reviews, inspections, site visits or field work.
• Processes reports in accordance with established program rules, requirements, and policies.
• Enters documentation, compliance data and resolution actions into the designated database.
• Reviews required reports, test reports and notices for regulated facilities.
• Ensures the reviews are accurate, completed timely and entered into the designated database.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to physically conduct field inspections/investigations.
• Knowledge of the Department’s compliance and enforcement policies and procedures.
• Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to evaluate, analyze and interpret scientific and technical data.
• Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
• Ability to drive and travel, including some overnight.
• Ability to work well with people.
• Skill and proficiency in computer operations and programs.
• Ability to communicate in a tactful and courteous manner both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of the terminology, principles, and analytical techniques of the physical or natural sciences.
• Ability to understand and apply applicable regulations, policies and procedures relating to environmental programs.
