Position Overview:

The Compliance Senior Manager –Fair Lending is responsible for establishing and maintaining compliance risk management for Freddie Mac related to fair lending laws/regulations, including oversight of third parties such as sellers and servicers. Our Impact:

Coordinate with Business Divisions in the 1st Line of Defense to effectively adopt the compliance risk management program related to SF Servicing/Portfolio Division
Continuously improve and supervise processes and controls to align with fair lending regulatory requirements and related policies and procedures across Freddie Mac
Maintain relationships and customer protection with FHFA, as Freddie Mac’s Conservator and Regulator
Advise & collaborate with Single Family Servicing/Portfolio Division and enterprise divisions (including Divisional Risk Officers, Enterprise Risk Officers, Legal, and Internal Audit) to manage fair lending compliance risk. This includes implementation of new regulatory requirements, oversight of new initiatives, reporting and escalation of regulatory matters and ongoing review of existing regulatory processes and controls.

Your Impact:

Build out and implement Freddie Mac’s compliance risk management program for the Single-Family Servicing/Portfolio Division in alignment with the framework pillars: I) Risk Identification, II) Risk Assessment, III) Monitoring/Testing/Controls, IV) Issues Management, V) Reporting, and VI) Risk Appetite
Conduct the fair lending compliance risk management oversight activities for Freddie Mac and its third parties. This includes advising the business, crafting and implementing monitoring activities, and contributing to testing over Charter and consumer protection regulations, including fair lending.
Participate in collaborative leadership of fair lending compliance through strategic planning, talent assessment and development, and clear and open communications
Ensure appropriate SF Servicing/Portfolio Division compliance policies, procedures and training exist that address fair lending regulatory and risk management requirements across Freddie Mac and third parties.
Continuously improve and maintain Single Family Servicing/Portfolio Division fair lending compliance program consistent with the compliance risk management framework and industry practice including
Coordinate fair lending compliance related business activities and collaborate to provide effective challenge as appropriate
Implement fair lending compliance training and awareness plans
Supervise fair lending issues and remediation plans pursuant to enterprise risk framework standards
Identify, measure, and report on fair lending risks to management and the Chief Compliance Officer
Respond to reports of breaches of laws, regulations or policies and standards related to Fair Lending.
Collaborate with a team of knowledgeable and motivated compliance risk professionals.

Qualifications:

JD, MBA, CPA preferred or equivalent experience
Minimum 10+ years relevant compliance-related functional experience in mortgage servicing
Minimum 2+ years leading risk management functions within large sophisticated financial organizations
Shown success operating in a 3 lines of defense framework
Strong team management and leadership
