Job Description:
Under the direction of the General Counsel, provides expert and technical counsel to the Board of Directors, its members, and District staff on all legal and business matters including a wide variety of public agency law, civil law, labor law, and provides legal support to the Water and Energy departments; represents the District in legal proceedings; and ensures that District activities support strategic objectives and are in compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations. Performs related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D. or LL.B.) from a recognized educational institution and seven years of progressively responsible experience in the practice of law, including four years of which involve the representation of clients in a governmental agency or utility.
- Experience as a City Attorney, County Counsel or other governmental agency is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license issued by the State of California, Department of Motor Vehicles is required.
