Job Description:

Judicial Technology Trainers allocated to this professional-level classification typically report to a unit manager and are responsible for providing a wide range of professional training and technical assistance services to implement and maintain the Court’s automated Case Management Systems (CMSs) and other courtwide applications. Incumbents are responsible for designing and delivering training programs which involve researching, developing, and preparing training materials, as well as conducting training;

Job Responsibilities:

  • Works with subject matter experts to plan, organize and facilitate a wide range of training activities for new users and existing staff to ensure consistent case management system processes and procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of existing operational processes and procedures, and provides training and/or consultation to system users, supervisors, and managers, which may include in-person visits, email, web-conferencing, and telephone communication.
  • Responds to 2nd level help desk tickets related to CMS, e-filing or related systems, working first to resolve tickets; assesses scope and nature of problem, researches issue and resolves in a timely fashion or escalates as needed.
  • Plans, develops, and implements in-person and distance training for individuals, groups, and train-the-trainer sessions based on identified CMS training needs and on input provided by management and supervisory staff. Training may be for new users or existing staff.
  • Develops and maintains curriculum and training materials, and participates in identifying and evaluating the training needs of court and non-court users using evaluation studies and measurement tools to aid in assessing the effectiveness of training programs and in improving their quality.
  • Facilitates and provides support for SME user groups by litigation or specialty area.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves routine data quality issues and provides user support and training to prevent further occurrences.

  • Project planning, implementation, and evaluation techniques.
  • Methods used during research activities for the development of training programs.
  • Techniques for gathering, compiling, analyzing, and presenting information verbally and in writing.
  • Adult learning principles and techniques to aid in the creation of effective computer and business process training for individuals and groups.
  • Methods and techniques for determining and troubleshooting the causes of computer hardware and software problems, particularly those affecting case management and other court-related automated systems.
  • Court procedures and operations practices pertaining to the case management system functions and practices of the assigned area.
  • Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
