Job Description:

Supervises and works with Locksmiths in the installation, repair, and maintenance of locks, door closures, electronic locking systems, and panic hardware systems. Supervises the recombination and adjustment of locks. Uses locking system software to develop and maintain the master lock system with grandmasters, sub-masters, and operational keys. Performs related duties.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides estimates on annual supplies for budget planning purposes.
  • Assigns scheduled work and short- or no-notice service and emergency calls.
  • Orients new employees to plans, procedures, job functions, and locations.
  • Serves as a locksmith subject matter expert for pre-construction meetings with management and engineers.
  • Establishes section policies and procedures and plans work on a short-term basis.
  • Cross references files with key codes, location codes, and system codes to ensure the integrity of the Master Key system. Maintains computer files to control keys, cores, and the names of people who have access to specific areas.
  • Maintains the Master Key production plan report for audit purposes.
  • Keeps abreast of the locksmith trade and related airport issues.
  • Using locking system software, sets up and maintains master lock systems with grandmasters, sub-masters, and operational keys in accordance with regulations and requirements.
  • Plans, organizes, and consults with architects and occupants for new or renovated buildings in the design, modification, or addition of keying systems.

Job Requirements:

  • Seven years of progressively responsible experience in an IT user or system support capacity.
  • Four of the seven years of experience must include working directly with Microsoft SCCM/MECM performing tasks that include image development, system configuration, and administration.
  • Knowledge of supervisory principles and ability to manage the operations and programs of the unit/team.
  • Skill in creating and deploying Windows desktops, installing and configuring client software, and managing updates.
  • Skill in creating and modifying Structure Query Language queries.
  • Skill in installing and administering enterprise anti-virus protection systems
  • Knowledge of SCCM 2012 and standard software platforms and skill in providing expert-level administration of the enterprise desktop environment.
  • Knowledge of SCCM infrastructure and skill in designing, installing, and deploying hardware and software into the enterprise desktop environment.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Knowledge of supervisory principles and ability to manage the operations and programs of the unit/team.
  • Ability to perform basic analyses of data and information.
  • Knowledge of the safety rules, regulations, and procedures needed to supervise others in working safely.
  • Knowledge of locking system software and best practices of the locksmith trade and ability to provide or assure authorized locksmith services.
  • Full performance (journey) level knowledge of and skill in lock hardware, keying systems, various door systems, and related mechanisms.
  • Two of the six years of experience must include maintaining master lock systems with grandmasters, sub-masters, and operational keys.
  • Six years of progressively responsible experience in the repair and installation of locks and locking systems.
  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with ADA and fire safety regulations when installing locks and inspecting installation of locks.
