Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

  • This full-time Maintenance Worker position will perform daily janitorial services such as vacuuming, dusting, mopping, sweeping, cleaning toilets/sinks, emptying trash, washing windows, polishing interior finishes, and washing windows and other interior fixtures.
  • As needed, employee may also be required to perform snow removal, weeding, trash pickup, and cleaning exterior fixtures such as benches and trash cans.
  • Basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical work required to clear simple plumbing stoppages and replace faucets; prepare surfaces for painting by sanding/buffing/cleaning; replace light switches and outlets; troubleshoot simple mechanical issues. Must have a State issued drivers license and operate pickups/cars/vans in the performance of duties.
  • Must be able to use computer for email, online training, conducting internet searches, online purchasing. Will be required to hold and use government charge card.

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males
  • Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
  • You will be required to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450 on an annual basis.
  • You may be required to travel overnight away from home once, during the Fellowship. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.
  • You will be required to submit supervisory approval showing that your supervisor is supportive of your application to/consideration for the Acquisition Policy Fellowship opportunity (see Required Documents section for more details).
  • You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • Government Charge Card: You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.
  • Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males
  • If you are a new employee or supervisor in the Federal government, you will be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided.
  • You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
  • You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver’s license is required. You will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Driving Record. You must also submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver’s licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.
