Job Description:
Performs general semi-skilled manual labor and related work as required. Work is done under the supervision of a Crew Chief who assigns work to be completed. A helper is considered to be in training for one of the skilled trades and is expected to perform tasks of progressively increasing difficulty; this work will be carefully checked during performance and upon completion.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled maintenance on all types of Village equipment; oil changes; grease jobs, brake inspections, fan belt and battery replacements.
- Perform general cleaning of work areas.
- As a learner, you will help mechanics overhaul motors and tune up motors.
Job Requirements:
- Must speak, read, and write the English language fluently. Applicant must possess a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
- Valid driver’s license is required; CDL Class A type driver’s license is required or the ability to obtain one within first year of employment.
- Diagnostic, welding and fabricating experience a plus. A.S.E. and E.V.T., certifications desirable.
- Minimal 2 years prior automotive experience.
- Applicant must be in good physical condition, possess mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
- Required to work outdoors in all temperature and weather conditions.
- Willingness to attend and complete required training classes as directed.
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience in dispatching for a MABAS Division preferred, not required
- Applicants must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
