Job Description:

Pima Community College offers an Associate of Fine Arts pathway in Theatre Arts, and this position is required to ensure the successful implementation of selected technical theatre courses and associated theatrical productions. This academic pathway is offered as part of PCC’s mission to be a premiere community college with an international reputation for student success. In addition, the theatrical productions offered by PCC help to meet the college’s broader initiatives and goals regarding community engagement. The Advanced Program Coordinator is the fourth level of a seven level program coordinator series. Incumbents are responsible for performing various professional level duties related to the coordination of complex programs and monitoring related operational activities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • May supervise employees to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; and making hiring, termination and disciplinary recommendations
  • Represents the college at a variety of internal and external activities
  • Provides complex consultative services to include program and legal requirements
  • Manages the planning, development, implementation and administration of complex programs and projects
  • Develops action plans and evaluates program goals, plans, operational and funding needs
  • Develops strategies for generating revenue and external partnerships and manages their implementation and evaluation
  • Develops and maintains internal and external contracts; develops strategies and coordinates efforts to ensure program success and client satisfaction
  • May manage and analyze enrollment, communications and marketing efforts
  • Oversees and manages the development and administration of instruction, professional development and training curriculums
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of a comprehensive Theatre Arts season of plays and/or musicals
  • Manages the design and build of all production elements for each show in the Theatre Arts season (including but not limited to sets, costumes, lights, sound, projections, and special effects)

  • Knowledge of theatrical design and technical theatre elements (including but not limited to sets, costumes, lights, sound, projects, and special effects)
  • Management experience (including project management, budgeting, building, and supervision)
  • Skills in prioritizing and assigning work, as well as managing multiple projects
  • Skills in developing and implementing objectives, policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of effective practices in marketing, public relations, contracting, meeting deadlines, researching, and evaluating theatrical
  • productions
  • Skills in monitoring and evaluating employees and students
