Job Description:

Under the direction of the Dean of Distance Education, the Assistant Director, Instructional Design will work with faculty, staff, and administrators to support the course development, design, and facilitation of online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses through appropriate pedagogical and andragogical frameworks using learning technologies.

Job Responsibilities:

• Receives direction from the Dean, Distance Education. Supervises and directs assigned staff. May provide technical direction to short-term employees, faculty, staff, and administrators as it relates to area of assignment.

Job Requirements:

• Relates with public groups using stadiums for graduations, public and sporting events.
• Orders supplies.
• Performs tree trimming as required.
• Participates in District-provided in-service training programs.
  Maintains a friendly, supportive atmosphere for students, staff, faculty, and the public.
• Applies herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers, and insecticides.
• Prepares fields, including mowing, edging, spiking, striping, over seeding, sod replacement, leveling for athletic events including soccer, baseball, football, tennis courts and track.
• Performs other duties, related to the position, as assigned.
• Operates tractors, backhoes and related power equipment; maintains equipment and conducts minor repairs.
• Checks and repairs irrigation systems, reprograms clocks as needed.
• Checks playing surfaces and stadium for safety hazards.
• Rebuilds sporting areas including shot put, long jump, mounds, baseball plate, and bull pen areas.
  Replaces windscreens.
• Mixes paint for fields, parking lot stripping.

Qualification & Experience:

• Must have a valid California driver’s license, and have and maintain an insurable driving record acceptable to the District’s insurance carrier, is required.
• Must have or be eligible to obtain and maintain a State of California Certified Commercial Applicator’s license (Parts A, B, & C) or Applicator Certificate by the end of the probationary period.
