The Office Administrative Specialist (OAS) provides project support to the Student Support Center. The Student Support Center includes Counseling, Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities (Student Complaints and Student Conduct), Parent Center, and the Resource and Referral Center (including Food Pantry). The OAS coordinates a wide variety of operations to ensure that the Student Support Center functions in an organized and efficient manner. The OAS manages several functions within the Student Support Center.
Follow up with administrators, departmental staff on project deadlines and assignments
Coordinate the Student Support Center Welcome Desk and schedules of work study students
Maintain and monitor claendars, schedule appointments, arrange meetings and travel schedules
Dictate meeting minutes, prepare correspondence, reports and spreadsheets
Monitor budgets and cost centers as directed
Word processing sufficient to use software to create, format, edit and save a variety of documents, including spreadsheets, tables, charts, and graphs.
Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency. Incorporates culturally responsive practices, and actively engages in antiracism professional development learning opportunities
Database management skills sufficient to develop and maintain data bases and retrieve information
Knowledge of computer software applications to create spreadsheets from a variety of sources and complete lists, spreadsheets, and graphs to track projects, data, and activities.
Lead work skills sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
Customer services practices and principles sufficient to identify each customer’s needs, meet quality standards for services.
