Job Description:
Do you have experience spotting forest fires for a natural resources company or agency? Are you looking for a seasonal job opportunity? If so, good news, the Oregon Department of Forestry is currently hiring.
Job Responsibilities:

Collect and report daily weather observations of temperature, relative humidity, storm activity, state of the weather, and precipitation to the dispatch office.

Relay and monitor two-way radio communications.

While stationed in the Forest Lookout, will be working with little supervision in high and semi-confined spaces.

Observe the surrounding area for signs of wildfire, suspicious fire related activity or suspected violations of fire prevention restrictions using visual observation and binoculars.
Job Requirements:

Ability to observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources.

Highly accountable employee with the ability to work independently.

Excellent verbal communication skills; in-person, over the phone and via two-way radio.

Experience monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.

Experience with reading and interpreting maps.

Experience analyzing information and evaluating results
