Job Description:
The ideal candidate for this position has extensive supervisory experience in Airfield Maintenance at a medium or large hub airport. Supervisory and administrative duties include FAA Part 139 compliance of airfield paint markings, pavement condition indexing, field conditioning and security requirements; estimating materials and determining equipment needs to perform tasks; coordinating employee training; supervising personnel to address employee issues to include coaching and employee support; performance evaluations; time clock management; and construction project coordination. Candidates must possess the ability to use computer software for a variety of tasks, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to make decisions and prioritize work for the entire team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepares requisitions and maintains replacement parts and materials to allow timely completion of work assignments.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Prepares technical specifications for equipment acquisition and repair projects.
- Establishes preventive maintenance programs, procedures and schedules; supervises an equipment safety inspection program and makes periodic inspections to ensure proper maintenance of equipment.
- Assists in the development and management of annual budgets.
- Provides technical advice and assistance to subordinates; trains personnel in safety procedures and operating standards.
- Inspects work performed by employees and contractors to ensure compliance with FAA CFR Part 139 regulations.
- Performs employee performance evaluations.
Job Requirements:
- Considerable knowledge of codes, rules, regulations and standard operating procedures pertaining to area(s) of responsibility.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, blueprints, diagrams and drawings.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with subordinates, peers, and others.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to use a computer and related software.
- Specific understanding and ability to interpret FAA Advisory Circulars and FAA CFR Part 139 regulations. Skill in the application of supervisory techniques.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, tools, materials and equipment used in airfield maintenance work.
