Our team of Installation Technicians climb and work on radio towers at heights from 100 to 500 feet. These dedicated professionals install and maintain antenna and transmission systems on radio towers, build telecommunication facilities to include radio towers, generators, and buildings. Job Responsibilities:

  • Work involves the installation of microwave systems, radio tower work, inside and outside cable plant, and similar work in connection with telecommunications equipment
  • Operate digger derrick trucks, operate other similar equipment and pull trailers
  • Must pass tower certification within 180 days of employment in addition to any pre-existing climbing credentials the applicant may already have
  • Work with a construction crew of 5 personnel
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors and/or customers and effectively handle conflict situations
  • Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
  • Experience from the cellular tower industry is an excellent fit with this position
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Must have normal color vision
  • Must be able to detect and interpret different visual color signals and displays, and identify and determine the speed of moving objects at near or far distances
  • Able to perform physically strenuous work on a regular basis

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience operating heavy equipment such as construction, farm, etc. (Consider professional, personal, and volunteer experience)
  • Experience working outdoors in variable weather conditions (consider professional, personal, and volunteer experience)
  • Experience operating, using, and driving a digger-derrick truck to include setting Class 3 or greater wood poles or steel poles
  • Experience or training in climbing heights up to 500 feet, using 100% tie off (e.g., towers in the telecom and power industry, radio, cellular, communications towers, wind turbine generation towers, utility transmission line towers; or formal training from a cellular tower, wind generation or electrical lineman program)
  • Gone through formal training in radio or cellular tower support, wind turbine tower support, or as a lineman
  • Presently certified, or have been previously certified, from an an accredited tower climbing and rescue training program (e.g., ComTrain, Safety LMS, or classroom training from a technical/vocational school)
