Computer Scientist to support team of international volcano-response and volcano-data professionals
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Volcano Science Center (VSC) seeks two Computer Scientists to oversee and conduct software development and IT management
Job Responsibilities:
- Both positions will be based at the Cascades Volcano Observatory (CVO) in Vancouver, WA. One position will be with the Volcano Disaster Assistance Program (VDAP, https://volcanoes.usgs.gov/projects/VDAP/), a group co-funded by USAID that supports volcano observatories worldwide. The successful candidate will work with other scientists and engineers to develop a wide variety of software products to support VDAP’s crisis response and capacity building activities in the developing world.
Job Requirements:
- Both positions are full-time permanent. Applicants must be US citizens and will be hired at the GS-13 level with promotion potential to GS-15. Duty station for both positions is Vancouver, WA and requires frequent in-office functions. This is not a remote job. Relocation expenses will be available for the successful candidates.
