Job Description:
Develop, document and/or review policies, procedures and training material supporting new or modified financial business processes and system modifications, enhancements, and /or upgrades. Policies, procedures and training materials are developed, documented, and reviewed by required due dates.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with users of the General Ledger, Account Payable, Time Entry, Accounts Receivable and Project Accounting functionality areas of VDOT.
- Research, analyze, understand, and document fiscal division accounting functionality. Use appropriate problem solving methods to improve process and system functionality .
- Develop, document and/or review policies, procedures and training material supporting new or modified financial business processes and system modifications, enhancements, and /or upgrades. Policies, procedures and training materials are developed, documented, and reviewed by required due dates.

Job Requirements:
- Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of public health, public health nursing, and newborn bloodspot screening/including inborn errors of body chemistry. Excellent organization and verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and implement newborn screening services;
- provide follow-up services; respond to changing priorities.· Ability to work independently as well as in a team to develop integrated financial solutions.
- Experience applying generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Experience involving knowledge of client and server applications. - Strong attention to detail especially as related to reviewing and approving documents.
- Experience applying knowledge of state and federal regulations or financial operations and reporting.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
- Experience reflecting strong knowledge of system analysis and the system development life cycle.
- Experience reflecting strong knowledge of accounting and financial functions.
